Last April President Xi addressed some of the concerns form overseas critics who claimed belt and road projects only helped China in achieving her geopolitical ambitions. The President promoted green growth and sustainable financing; transparency on project development, land requisition, debt pricing and contractual issues: inclusiveness from countries while promising to prevent the debt trap. What steps have the Chinese government taken so far and could take in the future to recalibrate the BRI to be a win-win for all participating countries?
