Blair Crichton is co-Founder of KARANA, the first Asian whole-plant based meat brand.
Blair is passionate about revolutionizing the global food system and is a committed environmentalist. This led him to launch KARANA, a Singapore-based start-up that offers minimally processed whole-plant based meat alternatives. KARANA’s first product to launch in 2021 is a whole-plant based ‘pork’ made from organic jackfruit sustainably sourced from Sri Lankan farmers.
Blair was born and raised in Hong Kong, which he still considers home. He speaks conversational Cantonese and Mandarin and holds an MPhil in Chinese Studies from Cambridge and an MBA from Dartmouth Tuck.
Prior to KARANA, Blair worked for Impossible Foods, New Age Meats, and The Good Foods Institute in Silicon Valley.
Blair started his career in finance after being awarded a position on HSBC’s elite International Management Program. During his time with the bank he completed four postings in Shanghai, Hong Kong and New York, honing skills in corporate finance, supply-chain finance and people strategy.
