Managing Director, GrabPay
Ooi Huey Tyng is the managing director of GrabPay Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines, where she focuses on driving adoption of GrabPay with local cash-based merchants in each market. She oversees the strategic direction for the GrabPay business in these countries and is responsible for forging the business partnerships required to bring millions of merchants and consumers into the cashless future.
Prior to joining Grab, Ms Ooi was Visa’s country manager for Singapore and Brunei where she was responsible for the country operation and overall P&L, including growth priorities, ePayment ecosystem expansion, regulatory engagement as well as key stakeholder management for regional banks headquartered in Singapore. In addition, she also served in the Committee of the Future Economy (CFE) set-up by PM Lee from 2015 to 2016 and represented Visa in Singapore Payment Council chaired by MAS in 2017.
Ms Ooi has more than 25 years of experience in senior positions at global banks and leading payments providers. As one of Grab’s most high-profile women leaders, she champions diversity & inclusion and leadership for women within Grab and in Southeast Asia.
She also held leadership roles at DBS, UOB, and Citi among others, where she was responsible for managing retail cards businesses, product, merchant acquisition and strategic partnerships.
When she is not working, she enjoys time with her two children, visits the gym and travels.
