Mr Xu Ze is the President of the Chinese Association of Hong Kong and Macau Studies and former Deputy Director of Beijing's Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office under the State Council, PRC.
From April 2001 to July 2004, he was Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office under the State Council. From July 2004 to May 2013, he served as Deputy Director of the Central Government's Liaison Office in the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR). From May 2013 to March 2015, he served as Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office under the State Council. He is a Standing Member, a member of the Standing Committee of the 11th and 12th National Committees of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He was a member of the Committee for the Basic Law of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) under the NPC Standing Committee.
